Young Professionals Board

The mission of the Young Professional (YP) Board is to advance the mission of Franciscan Outreach by leveraging the contacts and resources of young professionals throughout the Chicagoland area through networking, fundraising, community outreach, volunteer recruitment, and other avenues of support.

Prospective members must be socially committed, young professional adults in their 20s and 30s who have an interest in Franciscan Outreach’s mission to serve homeless and marginalized individuals in Chicago.

Each board member is expected to volunteer 6 times a year at the shelter and/or the soup kitchen in order to contribute to the work at Franciscan Outreach and to become familiar with the guests, services and mission.

General Board meetings will occur 6 times a year and members are expected to attend at least 4 scheduled meetings.

Membership Privileges

The YP Board offers members another meaningful avenue and expanded opportunities to help serve men and women experiencing homelessness in our city. Members have the opportunity to expand their professional skills and experience, try new things, and diversify their resume. Members are invited to participate in various Franciscan Outreach trainings and workshops at no cost.

Members will be offered space in Franciscan Outreach buildings and materials as needed for YP board meetings and initiatives.
