Meet Franciscan Outreach’s new Executive Director: Ed Jacob
Franciscan Outreach is thrilled to announce the appointment of its new Executive Director: Ed Jacob. Ed comes to Franciscan Outreach after serving as the Executive Director of Neighborhood Housing Services of Chicago (NHS) since 2010.
In addition to leading NHS, Chicago’s largest affordable-housing counselor, for the past five years, Ed currently serves as Chairman of the National Community Stabilization Trust, and is a board member of the Chicago Community Loan Fund. Ed also served the non-profit sector as Economic Development Director at Uptown Center Hull House from 1985-92; Director at Howard Area Community Center from 1984-85; and Program Manager at Voice of the People in Uptown from 1981-1984.
In addition to his work on behalf of the nonprofit sector, Ed worked in the private sector as a small business lender at First Chicago and VP of Community Investment at Bank One from 1992-99. As a community development expert, Ed served as CEO of North Side Community Federal Credit Union from 1999-2010, providing basic savings accounts and financial literacy to unbanked and underbanked individuals.
