The Franciscan Outreach Volunteer Program (FOV) is a one-year (renewable) program based on the values of service, community, spirituality, and simple living. This special group of highly dedicated volunteers makes our work with the homeless, poor, and marginalized in Chicago possible.
Volunteers work directly with guests, providing hospitality and services at our soup kitchen and overnight shelters. They live in the Marquard Center in a community with 11-13 other volunteers, participating in retreats, weekly reflections, meetings, and community nights.
We are looking for men and women with the skills, commitment, and passion necessary to help bring about the personal and societal transformations we seek.
