Day of Service – MLK Day
In the words of Martin Luther King Jr. “Life’s most persistent and urgent question is, ‘What are you doing for others?'”
For the second year in a row, members of Girls in the Game are coming out to our Marquard Center to help clean in the building for a few hours during the day and then serve dinner in the evening. We are so happy to have these wonderful volunteers helping us on this very important day of service! Their enthusiasm can’t be beat!
Chicago’s favorite hot dog provided by Vienna Beef will be will served Monday night at the soup kitchen through their donation of 250 hot dogs and buns with a side of relish and pickles! We are so grateful for this donation!
At the Franciscan House shelter, Rush University staff and students will be providing oatmeal, eggs, and bacon for our shelter guests in the morning. They have been serving breakfast to guests at the shelter for the past few years. Thanks so much to all for thinking of our guests on this very special day of service and celebration of the life of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
