Here is what we need for our guests...

We especially need socks for men

For the Shelter (In order of priority, from top to bottom)

Underwear for men

  • Men’s: M, L, XL, 2X, and 3X (limited quantities for 3X)
  • Men’s Crew Neck T-shirts: L, XL, 2X and 3X (limited quantities for 3X)

Toiletry care packages (travel-sized items)

  • Men’s: toothpaste, toothbrush, razor, men’s deodorant, shaving cream, hand cream
  • Women’s: toothpaste, toothbrush, razor, women’s deodorant, moisturizer

Disposable razors

Individual (travel-sized) bar soap          

Individual (travel-sized) shampoo         

Individual (travel-sized) toothpaste and toothbrushes

Socks (men’s and women’s)

Underwear for women

  • Women’s: M, L, 2X, 3X
  • Women’s bras: all sizes, but esp. 36-38 B, C, and D cups

Full-sized Bath towels  (not really big ones - we wash 250 towels each day)

Blankets (twin-sized only) *can be gently used. No quilts please.

Gift cards (Walgreens, Jewel/Osco, Kmart, McDonalds) in the amounts of $5, $10, $20. Please write denomination on cards; All cards should be mailed to or dropped off at our administrative offices at 1645 W. LeMoyne St., Chicago, IL 60622.

Gift cards (Walgreens, Jewel/Osco, Kmart, McDonalds) in the amounts of $5, $10, $20.  Please write denomination on cards; All cards should be mailed to or dropped off at our administrative offices at 1645 W. LeMoyne St., Chicago, IL 60622.  Cards will be distributed to the location of you choice.

In October, we will begin collecting coats for men and women. Coats should be warm, heavy, winter coats and in good wearable condition. We are especially in need of MEN’S coats of all sizes—especially large and XL sizes. We do not serve children, so please ADULT sizes only.

Prizes for our silent auction at our next dinner - tickets to events, artwork, dinner certificates, jewelry, sports memorabilia, home items, gift cards, condo stays, airline tickets, tickets to plays, etc
Vendors who can donate their services to the shelter or soup kitchen: exterminators, kitchen supplies, cleaning supplies, fire extinguisher refills, security system monitoring, etc.
$195 per class for a food handler's license class for our full time volunteers at the Marquard Center and Interim Housing Workers at the shelter
Unopened # 56, 57, 27, 28, 74, 75 HP ink cartridges for desktop printers
Monetary donations - donations are down in this economy. If you can share what you have with those who have less, please do!
CTA cards that case managers can give to our guests
Sponsors for community building events for our 26 guests who are in housing as part of the Streets to Home project at St Peter's - $25 per event to be used for one or more of the following:  food & beverages and small prizes for bingo and other games. Events are held once a month.
Office supplies - black pens, copy paper, post-it notes, etc
Small quantities (not more than 4 or 5) of small give-away items for our give away basket at the Marquard Center.  Examples: cards, notebooks, change purses, costume jewelry, portable cd player, or other small household or personal items that you no longer need that might be of use to a homeless person.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Please don't donate any clothing other than what is specified above. We don't have the personnel to sort it or the space to store it.
