November’s pale light is fading fast.

Chill winds penetrate my threadbare clothes.

I’m not too sure how long I’ll last;

How bonetired I am, only God knows.

My belly’s achin’ for lack of a meal

My muscles are quickly losing power.

Oh, what a miracle it would be

To feel the warmth of a hot shower.

Just as my feet falter and stumble

I see the light beckoning ahead.

A Franciscan dwelling ever so humble;

God’s helpers giving us our daily bread.
