Position Available for Mission Effectiveness / Volunteer Coordinator

Franciscan Outreach Association is a homeless service organization with a 246 bed overnight shelter, a soup kitchen, and case managers who help the homeless find whatever they need to build a better life. Our website is www.franoutreach.org. We are in search of a Mission Effectiveness/Volunteer Coordinator who will

·       work with our Full-Time Volunteers who live and work with us for a year at a time, most of whom are young persons from around the US and the world

·       coordinate part time volunteers for two sites, and

·       plan and direct the process of making the FOA mission more tangible for all FOA employees and supporters

 

Successful applicants will have:

·  Broad pastoral experience in the Catholic Church working with young people or with Catholic non-profit organizations serving the marginalized

·  The ability to communicate the Franciscan legacy broadly, creatively and enthusiastically.

·  An M.A. in Pastoral Theology or M.Div, preferably

·  The ability to work independently and as part of a team

·  The ability to interact verbally with volunteers, staff, guests, and other persons

·  Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Word

·  Applicant need not be an ordained minister.

 

Salary is $20,000 and is provided by a one year grant from a foundation which may be renewable. Position begins on or about June 1, 2009.
